Bricker Breaks Free
A downloadable game for Windows
You are Bricker, a suddenly sentient collections of blocks who lives in a classic arcade cabinet. After all the years of constant attack from players, it is time to make your escape! Protect your core with every brick you have left!
Movement - WASD
Shield - Left click and mouse movements
Shoot - Right click (make sure not to waste all your bricks though!)
Everything except the music and sfx were done by me within the time frame of the jam.
2nd place overall in GMTK Game jam 2023, theme "Roles Reversed"!

Excellent! I typically run streams on Fridays between 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM EST, though I'll be taking a 1-week break because of the upcoming long weekend, so the next stream I am planing will be August 11th. Please let me know if you have any other questions about the interview / stream.
I saw this on Mark's channel and wanted to try it out. Unfortunately for me, it always crashes. I have an amd graphics card and was told my the adrenaline software that it was a "driver timeout". Maybe that helps. Anyway, though I don't get to personally try my hands on it, it looked excellent in all the footage I saw. Well done!
Dang I'm sorry about that, I have no clue why thats happening to some people. I'm gonna have to research it to see if I can figure it out for future reference. Thanks for letting me know though!
crashes whenever i press start game :(
Thats really weird, I honestly have no idea what would be causing that. Maybe deleting it and trying a fresh download of the project? Either way I'm sorry about that, but thanks for trying anyway.
Very fun game. One problem is sometimes moving becomes a bit difficult, I think maybe the orange bricks get in the way of you moving or something. other than that game was great!
Yeah that was one bug that I had to push off, just ran out of time to work out a solution, sorry about that.

I wanted to see what you were talking about and went and tried it. That was a debug key to test the death state that I forgot to take out. Its kinda funny that it helps to pass the intro phase. Wasnt intentional, but hey I mean it works lol.
